When are your services and where are you located?
Our Sunday worship service begins at 9:15 AM each week. In most cases the service is completed at 10:15 AM. When there are special elements; for example, a baptism, communion, or installation, the service may be 5 – 15 minutes longer.
Our Saturday worship service begins at 5:00 PM on the second Saturday of each month in the chapel. In most cases the service is completed at 6:00 PM.
We are located on the corner of Park Avenue and 4th Street in the central part of Quakertown. There is a parking lot on 4th Street, just north of the church. Read more about visiting us for the first time.
How often do you take communion?
We celebrate communion eight times each year: Epiphany (2nd Sunday in January), Lent (Ash Wednesday), Easter (Maundy Thursday and Easter Day), Pentecost (late May), mid-summer, World Communion Sunday (early October), Advent (1st Sunday). All who believe in Jesus and wish to follow his request that we share communion in his memory are invited to partake. Read more about Holy Communion.
What should I wear?
On Sundays, some people like to wear their “Sunday best” while others prefer casual clothes. On average, we dress a step above shorts and tank tops. However, we want to worship with you however you are dressed. What’s on the inside is what God sees. On Saturdays, dress tends to be more casual.
Do I need to bring a Bible?
A Bible is not required. Our Sunday bulletin gives all that is needed to participate in our service. When passages from the Bible are read aloud, some find it helpful to read along in a Bible. Bibles are provided for this purpose in the pew racks at each seat. However, if you have a favorite translation, please feel free to bring it.
Are your buildings handicap accessible?
Yes. Our parking lot entrance on the north side of the church has a wheel chair ramp and a greeter to help open the doors. We also have a handicap accessible rest room just adjacent to the sanctuary. For those who have trouble walking distances, our sanctuary entrance (red doors closest to Park Avenue) is also handicap accessible.
What childcare is offered?
Childcare is offered for pre-school aged children during the Sunday 9:15 AM worship service. Pre-school children are invited to come to the early part of the service. A children’s sermon is given about 15 minutes into the service, and children who might have trouble staying for the rest of the service can go to the childcare room with our helpers when the children’s sermon is complete. After the service, graded Sunday School classes are available for all ages from infants through high school. Childcare is not offered on Saturdays at this time.
